Gloucester Light Infantry participates in 18th
century battle re-enactments, parades, historical events,
and various civic functions. The unit is based out of
Gloucester, Rhode Island but events are not limited to
the state of Rhode Island. The company does travel
out of state for several events a year. Gloucester Light

Gloucester Light Infantry Field Music is
currently seeking enlistees over the age of 16 for
concurrent participation in both the militia and fife &
drum corps. Enlistees of all skill levels welcome.
Music instruction will be provided on a weekly basis
for all members. Children under the age of 16 are
welcome with parent participation in the unit.

Any persons interested in joining either the
militia or fife and drum corps should contact us at
568-0034. The militia meets on the second
Saturday of every month at 2pm. The fife & drum
corps meets every Thursday at 6:30 and additional
practices are held on Saturdays at 3pm.

As a member of Gloucester Light Infantry it
would give you a chance to make many friends and
meet many dignitaries from around the world. You
would be provided training on the use of black powder
firearms and be eligible to participate in a musket
shooting team. As a member you are one of a special
select group of militiamen, dedicated to the protection
of our Rhode Island history and the right to bear and
keep arms.
